[Review] Project X Zone - When worlds collide with too many references

Wikipedia states that, "A gaming crossover occurs when otherwise separated fictional characters, stories, settings, universes, or media in a video game meet and interact with each other." This past decade has been host to more than a few crossover games. Arguably, the most notable is 2011’s Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Namco Bandai Games is taking another stab at it with Project X Zone for the Nintendo 3DS.

[Review] Dance with Demons in Shin Megami Tensei IV

As I’ve said time and time again, I love Atlus and its Shin Megami Tensei franchise. So, when Atlus announced Shin Megami Tensei IV (SMT4) on 2012.05.31 in a two-page spread in Famitsu Magazine, I was very excited, but I was a little disappointed when I heard it was for the Nintendo 3DS, because I didn’t have one at the time, and the system really didn’t interest me. Later on though, I purchased one, because all my friends were playing Fire Emblem: Awakening and went on and on about how great it was. I digress though. Is Shin Megami Tensei IV a sequel and game worthy of being in the Shin Megami Tensei multiverse?

[Review] Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan

When the opportunity arises, exploration is necessary. If not by everyday people, then by those who step up to the challenge. whether or not it’s for fame and fortune is ultimately up to each individual. This simple idea is the driving factor in the Atlus's first-person dungeon-crawler for the Nintendo 3DS, Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan. However, is this worthy of being called “legendary,” or should it go in the history books as just a mention?

[Review] TRITTON PlayStation Kunai Stereo Headset

Mad Catz has released a new TRITTON headset for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, and that can be used for everyday audio. This is something I was hoping for since I tried my AX 180 a few months ago. The sound quality of TRITTON on the go. The question is, however, how is the new TRITTON PlayStation Kunai Stereo Headset? As I said in my previous review, gaming headsets have become the fastest growing 3rd party accessory for the 360. TRITTON has a rich history, creating gaming headsets for the 360 since its start. TRITTON also offers a complete line of headsets for the 360 and PS3, whereas other manufactures trying to enter this category only offer a limited range.

[Review] TRITTON PRO+ True 5.1 Surround Sound Headset

Not only do competitive gamers rely on their controllers, but some also rely on headsets. Especially in fighting game tournaments, you will see a good chunk of the competitors wearing headsets. Not only do quality headsets allow you to hear everything, they also help to dissipate outside noise. This helps players concentrate more, even competing in front of 500+ of their peers. Mad Catz has released a new addition to their TRITTON brand of gaming headsets: TRITTON PRO+ True 5.1 Surround Sound Headset. A few months ago, I purchased a TRITTON AX 180 headset, and I loved it. So, when the PRO+ was announced, I was psyched, especially considering it's at least 3 tiers above the 180. The TRITTON PRO+ is the upgraded version of the award winning TRITTON AX Pro, and is compatible with both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

[Review] MLG Pro Circuit Controller for PS3

Competitive gaming is becoming more and more popular. Whether it's shooters like Halo or fighters like Street Fighter, more people are taking gaming seriously. The website for the MLG (Major League Gaming) Pro Circuit Controller states that for a pro gamer, a controller isn't just a controller, it "is their life, the instrument with which they conquer their foes; a useful tool they cannot manage to be without." As an up and coming competitor, I can attest to this. The question is, how is the MLG Pro Circuit Controller? The MLG Pro Circuit Controller boasts several unique features, including slip-deterring rubberized grips and a robust braided cable. A first-rate cable is the key to a long-lasting electronic device. The cable of the MLG Pro Circuit Controller is through with a rugged and braided, which strengthen the integrity of the cable, and because it's wired, there is no threat of latency or drop-out during play. The cable is 3 meters long, fully detachable and features a unique design to screw into the top of the controller.

[Review] Street Fighter X Tekken - FightPad S.D.: Great things can come in small packages

Mad Catz has released numerous versions of their FightPads throughout the years. These included ones for Street Fighter IV; ones for Super Street Fighter IV; and ones for WWE All Stars, although those were called BrawlPads. For Street Fighter X Tekken, they have made a new reincarnation, the FightPad S.D.. One of the 2 major differences between the FightPad S.D. and older FightPads is that both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are wired. This made me happy when I found out, because traditionally only the 360 versions have been wired, while the PS3 ones have been wireless and run on 2 AA batteries. But no more!

[Review] Go Hands-Free with Connect-A-Desk

As I previously said, I got my iPad for my job. Being in a wheelchair, you'd think I would be able to rest a laptop or iPad on your lap and have it be stable, right? Wrong. Even reclined, it isn't stable, and when I move, it can potentially fall. This wasn't going to work, because I'm using my iPad as a communication device, so it needs go be out while I move. To rectify this problem, I was looking at adaptive solutions, like wheelchair trays, but those are too bulky and cumbersome. I then remembered a product that ThinkGeek carries called the Connect-A-Desk. The aptly-named Connect-A-Desk is a fairly straight-forward product that has a hard plastic tray with straps connected to it by clips that you put your head and arms through. The straps are adjustable via standard loops found on any bag. I have found it easier to put it on with one strap unclipped.

Persona 4 The Animation - Now This is What An Adaptation Should Be

Persona 4 was released for the PlayStation 2 on 2008.07.10 in Japan, and 2008.12.09 in North America (and 2009.03.13 in Europe). This became one of my favorite PS2 games, and because of this, when I first heard that there was going to be an anime series, I was really excited. However, I was also cautious due to the fact that there was previously an anime series based on Persona 3, entitled Persona -Trinity Soul-, which ended up being nothing like what we were hoping for, in a bad way. The P4 anime has premiered already -- in Japan anyway -- and how is it? One night while we were watching Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete together, Tanya said that more Final Fantasy games should be made into movies or such, for those who don't want to play a 50+ hour game. While not Final Fantasy, this is exactly what Persona 4 The Animation is -- a retelling of the game's story, in anime series form, without all the level-grinding.

[Review] Battle of the iPad Cases

As technology becomes more and more powerful, it's becoming more important to protect your investment. However, while touchscreen tablets are getting more popular, they lack one major thing: a physical keyboard. With that said, ThinkGeek has come to the rescue yet again, selling iPad cases that come with Bluetooth keyboards built in, namely the ZAGGmate Aluminum iPad Keyboard Case, and the Bluetooth Keyboard Case for iPad.
